Touring the Emerald Necklace -- Slowly and Quickly

Yes, the Emerald Necklace ain't in Brighton.  But here you'll find a truly lovely description by Fenway Evan of a 9-mile walking tour of it beginning at Franklin Park and ending at Boston Common.  Full of pictures, history, and maps.

Some 3500-plus people, including 85 from Brighton, today managed to take that tour in one to three hours -- much faster than Evan did.  Here are the Brighton finishers:
