Boston Police D-14 to Get a New Captain -- Again

I have now heard the exact same rumor from different, but reliable, sources:  Captain Genevieve King will be leaving her position heading up the Boston Police Department's Allston-Brighton D-14 Station.  She has only been in the job for a few months; her immediate predecessor was only in the position for a few months, too.

Captain King has made her name dealing with domestic violence issues, and one of those rumors said that she would be taking a new position related to that kind of work.  She made a name in the neighborhood with her position on off-campus student behavioral issues, instituting a zero-tolerance policy in the department.  She also initiated a program of community policing in the neighborhood.

No specific word yet on her replacement, but one rumor suggested it might involve promotion of a lower-ranking officer -- rather than an appointment of an officer currently holding the rank of Captain.
