Agenda: Athletic facilities proposed in BC's 10-year institutional master plan

Boston College has proposed to convert the two informal ("multipurpose") athletic fields at the north end of their Brighton Campus (former St. John's Seminary land, adjacent to the Edison School) into four athletic fields, an underground support facility ("field house") and recreation center, and a 500-car parking garage.

Of the four athletic fields, two would be built out as stadiums: a 1500-seat baseball stadium and a 500-seat softball stadium. The other two fields would be "multipurpose" fields whose use includes intramural sports. All four fields are proposed to be fully lighted for nighttime use. All of the fields, except for one nearest to Lake Street, would have artificial turf installed.

The underground field house of 100,000 square feet would include locker rooms, restrooms, batting cages, tennis courts, indoor track, "training space" (likely a weight room), and concessions.
